Twitchers' Den, Bessingby

Twitchers' Den is a converted cow shed cottage in Bessingby village, East Yorkshire. Just 2 miles from Bridlington and 1 mile from the Old Town, it sits in a private courtyard accessed through a stone arch. The owner Sarah is hands-on and guests consistently praise her warmth. It was a REYTA 2020 finalist for remarkable self-catering accommodation of the year. No hot tub here, but plenty else to enjoy.

The setting is genuinely peaceful. A large shared lawned garden backs the courtyard, full of mature trees, birds and rabbits. Pick your own raspberries, red currants, peas, rhubarb and courgettes straight from the garden. There's a bird hide, a bird feeder station and a live birdbox camera feed in spring. No street lights mean proper dark skies for star gazing.

Twitchers' Den sleeps up to 3 guests. It has one bedroom with a four-poster bed, a well-equipped kitchen, a lounge with a real log fire and a shower room. All on one floor, making it ideal for those with mobility needs. Mobility equipment is available on request.
