Duck Cottage, Flamborough

Duck Cottage is a 16th-century chalk stone cottage sitting right in the heart of Flamborough village on the East Yorkshire coast. It sleeps up to 4 guests across two bedrooms and has that genuinely old-feel layout creaky floors, steep stairs and all. The central village location puts a Co-op, bakery, butcher and two pubs within a few minutes' walk. No hot tub here, but the location more than compensates.

Flamborough is a working coastal village on the Yorkshire Wolds coast. Cliff walks from North Landing to South Landing start practically from the door. Seals are regularly spotted near the lighthouse beach. Gannets nest at nearby Bempton Cliffs RSPB reserve just a short drive away. The village has fish and chip shops, pubs serving food and a good range of everyday shops.

The cottage sleeps 4 across two bedrooms. The ground floor is open-plan living and dining with a compact kitchen. The bathroom has a large bath with a handheld shower attachment. Note the stairs to the upper floor are steep.

Flamborough Head (1.5 miles, 5 mins), RSPB Bempton Cliffs (4 miles, 10 mins), Bridlington seafront (6 miles, 15 mins) and Filey (12 miles, 25 mins) are all within easy reach.

Duck Cottage suits walkers, wildlife fans and couples wanting a proper old Yorkshire coastal base. Book it for the location alone.
