Chalkstone Cottage, Flamborough

A lovely cottage in a fantastic location. The walks in the local area are amazing. The cottage itself was lovely. Would recommend. NOT FOR PUBLICATION BUT PLEASE NOTE On a seperate note a couple of things showed how slightly tired the cottage is though. The welcome pack needs updating. We had to rely on neighbours telling us when to put bins out as the pack said a completely day. Also toaster not fully working, shower on bath not working. These points are minor and did not detract from the fact we had a lovely time at the cottage.

The cottage is in a lovely area with all local amenities on your doorstep. I would agree with a previous review about the cottage looking slightly tied and a few things need attention which would make it wonderful. When we arrived we had to clean out one of the cupboards which had opened cereal,crisps and crackers in . One side of the toaster didnt work or the oven light . The small courtyard garden could be made lovely, the furniture seating pads are stained and the garden needs weeding. We had to put the mop and bucket outside cause there was a fusty smell in the cupboard, maybe could do with some outside storage. The bathroom looks wonderful on the surface but the blind was absolutely filthy and needs replacing, the shower on bath not working . The carpets need a clean and a lot of dust and cobwebs upstairs , one of the throws upstairs on the bed had stains on it. All of these problems can be rectified just needs a bit of TLC .

Had a wonderful 4 night stay at Chalkstone Cottage. Everything was beautifully clean and very spacious. Kitchen has all the facilities required. Bedrooms were comfortable. Bathroom with separate deep bath and shower. Welcome pack very informative and helpful. Plenty of pubs within walking distance and would recommend The viking pub a short drive away for great food ,excellent prices and friendly staff.

The cottage is well located for visiting lots of places, the village has a shop and a good number of pubs to eat at. It was very clean and tidy and it was very quiet while we were there. It was nice of the owner to leave biscuits and milk as a welcome gift.

Top notch! This cottage was beautifully decorated and had plenty of room. We loved the patio. Bedrooms have plenty of room. All renovated. Beautiful location close to center of town and park. Host even left milk and cookies for us when we arrived! Absolutely perfect!

We had a lovely stay at Chalkstone Cottage. The cottage is in a quiet location with parking, and is spacious with comfortable, wellappointed bedrooms. The owner has clearly put a lot of thought into ensuring the cottage is well equipped and welcoming for guests. There is a park just around the corner for children, along with a few shops and a chip shop less than five minutes away. During our stay, I contacted the owner Sarah about a few maintenance issues we encountered. Some of the saucepans had the coatings coming off, the pillows were quite lumpy and the shower attachment over the bath wasn't working, which made washing our toddler's hair a little difficult. The 13.5 tog duvets were really warm during the heatwave week of our visit so we asked if there were thinner ones anywhere that we could use. Sarah was absolutely lovely and could not have been more helpful. She immediately offered to replace the pans, send pillows and lighter duvets by nextday delivery, and arrange for a plumber to visit the following day. As we were due to leave two days later, we chose not to take her up on these offers, but we really appreciated how quickly and positively she responded and we fully appreciate she would not have been aware of these issues. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return to Chalkstone Cottage in the future.

This is our second time to Chalkstone cottage. It is in a good location and spotlessly clean. The only reason gave under for comfort as found the sofas too deep to get comfortable but you can get round that by sitting sideways. Will definitely go back again to Chalkstone Cottage.

We have been to this cottage twice now , its a lovely base for the East Coast . I would recommend this cottage to friends and family

What a beautiful spacious little cottage. Theres everything you could need for a relaxing stay. The enclosed patio area was lovely and I enjoyed a cuppa tea in the afternoon Easter sunshine with my Jack Russell Cooper. I enjoyed my stay so much that Ive booked again

Ive visited Flamborough many times and stayed in several cottages. This was the best yet! Fantastic location in the heart of the village. Very comfortable with everything we needed.

We have stayed at Chalkstone Cottage three times over the last few years and are never disappointed. We look forward to staying again in the future.

Beautiful cottage, very well equipped, we wanted for nothing. Very clean, with comfortable beds, fresh linen and nice soft pillows. Very homely and decorated well. The only tiny niggle we had was, having no logs and kindle for the log burner, on our arrival night. However once we stocked up the next day, we thoroughly enjoyed having the burner, for cosy evenings. We highly recommended the cottage.

Chalk stone cottage, has everything you could possibly want, the cottage is in a ideal spot, no traffic & quite, will definitely recommend to friends & family, and will be going back, well done to the owners.

The property was beautiful inside and out you can see that a lot of care has been put into the cottage. The kitchen was great it was fully equipped with everything we needed and we even got some biscuits and milk in the fridge which was lovely! The set out of the downstairs was perfect it was incredibly clean and the garden was very cosy. The bedrooms were the perfect size and the beds were extremely comfortable! The bathroom was lovely especially the stand alone bath. The whole house was spotless and it felt like home away from home. We met the owners of the cottage and they were very lovely people you can really tell they put a lot of effort and care into the property.

Chalkstone Cottage was delightful. It had everything you would need during your holiday. It was of a high standard of comfort sofas were very comfortable. Nice small safe fully enclosed garden area if you have dog with you and would certainly intend to stay again. Highly recommend this lovely cottage.

What a lovely cottage well presented very clean and very well equipped lovely village with good facilities , pubs a restaurant and award winning fish & chip shop. Good base to explore Whitby to Hull and all in between I have been in many cottages that have promised und under delivered this one is exactly the opposite .

We had a great stay at Chalkstone cottage. The property is lovely very homely and has everything you need. Ideal location to get to near by Bridlington, Scarborough and filey. Was recommended by a family member who had stayed. Will be looking to go back again would highly recommend.

Lovely well equipped cottage close to shops etc Very well equipped clean and tidy. Garden was a bit smaller than expected but was more than adequate for three of us. I would definitely recommend this cottage for anyone wanting to explore this area of Yorkshire

Beautiful cottage in the lovely village of Flamborough. We have stayed here twice now and we absolutely love it. Its clean, spacious, has everything you need. We will definitely be booking again.

Lovely cottage in a lovely place, could not recommend enough, would definitely try to book here again if in the area.

The cottage was in a good position and perfect for our needs, it was a good size and well furnished. The owners had clearly thought about how to make the cottage nice. However, the cleanliness left a lot to be desired, I had to clean the moms from around the top of the sink and around the taps before I could use it, the I picked the 2 best plates, cups and knife and forks, washed those and used these for the rest of our visit. The shower heads were moody and I cleaned one of these and the oven was really dirty too so we decided to eat out each day. Also whilst the beds looked clean the fact that the bedding wasnt ironed just showed the minimum effort given to the cleaning and turnover of the property. The bids looked like screwed up crisp packets they were so creased. The garden also needed some attention although it did get sun all day which was lovely. When we arrived the property had just been cleaned as the floors were still well and the cottage didnt smell very nice, we realised this was due to the dirty wet mop in the cupboard so we left it outside through our stay. The cottage, location and parking are lovely its just the cleaning that let it down. Glad I took some cleaning stuff with me just in case.

Lovely cottage in a peaceful area apart from a bit of dog barking from the neighbours! Very clean & the beds were very comfy. Could have done with more than one toilet roll & some rubbish bags to put our rubbish in as we had to use our own carrier bags as there was only one black bin bag provided. We cooked every day so there was a lot of food rubbish. Overall a lovely place to spend a weekend besides the sea. Thank you.

This is a fab cottage situated in the heart of Flamborough with all your amenities close by.

A lovely property , really well equipped and very comfortable for our party of 6. Its in an ideal location for visiting the local coves either by car or on foot.

Amazing 5 property. We were absolutely thrilled with this delightful property. The decor is beautiful, has everything you could possible need, very clean and warm and cosy. The owner Sarah was so helpful and there was even a bottle of wine on our arrival and milk in the fridge! Would recommend.

Property spacious. A few things let it down, no cupboard space for shopping,bed next to bathroom bed sheet too small kept coming off.Better information pack, what to burn on Wood burner, radiators in lounge didn't work. Lounge floor was dirty and gritty. Cds and childs yoghurt pot under radiator . To top it all the hoover was disgusting filter was full of clogged not seen anything like it ,didn't pick up inside was full and motor was struggling. When we got it working was dragging hair from humans.

A lovely cottage that has been renovated to an excellent standard. Great location in the centre of Flamborough and one of the best places we've stayed. Thoroughly enjoyed it and we will be returning!

Pros An excellent place to stay for the 5 off us 3 adults, 2 children , spacious and comfortable. Ideally located for exploring the Flamborough beaches, Bempton RSPB and the Yorkshire coastline. We loved the cottage and I am sure we will return. Cons We can only have a complaint about some cuttlery and ceramic ovenware needing a good scrub before use, seemed to be coated with baked tomato residue. The parking for two cars was tight! Then nothing to do with the cottage itself but, we had builders working next door adding to the chaos. Both cars needed a car wash to remove heavy dust from brick and stone cutting blowing everywhere.

We really enjoyed our stay at chalkstone cottage. It had everything you needed, also it was in a lovely location sitting just of high street from pubs, fish & chips & restaurant The seabirds would definitely recommend. We would definitely love to return again next year.

Excellent property wellequipped, clean and comfortable. Good walking from the door and within walking distance of pretty much everything you are likely to need. The only thing that would improve this, from our perspective, is blackout blinds in the bedrooms. We would highly recommend and hope to return.

Hi the cottage is lovely, but the cleanliness is something to be desired. The upstairs sink needs unblocking as does the shower which nearly overflows, water stays in them for an age. Bathroom draw was dirty so did not use. The skirting boards where dust as are the lights. All the mugs are chipped so did not use. Bedroom door creaked loadly evertime you closed it so needs fixing. Such a shame as the cottage is beautifully decorated and has been really thought out. Parking a bit tight. Good location.

A great cottage, spacious, clean and comfortable with all the equipment needed for the stay.

We have just returned from a fiveday visit to this beautiful little cottage in a prime position for the shops, pubs and all the surrounding beaches the little green park just 100 yards away was a godsend for our dog first thing in the morning and last thing at night for him to stretch his legs before we hit the beach. care has been taken to refurb this little gem of a find we had no issues during our stay I would however, suggest that pump soap is provided both in the kitchen and the bathroom I did purchase some together with extra toilet roll and have left the same for the next guests to use the central heating system is amazing and the cottage retains the heat during the day and evening when switched off we loved sitting in the little garden area which is fully enclosed and ideal for childrenpets alike as its safe I commend the owners for providing copious amounts of coathangers in each wardrobe too thank you just one comment the listing states the property benefits from Sky TV and this was not available during our stay however, we did use the games provided at the cottage we both loved our stay at your amazing cottage and will definitely be looking to book again later in the year or similar time next year thank you for making my staycation a memorable one Jayne and Charlie

Absolutely wonderful stay at this cottage, very comfortable and modern and plenty of room for the 5 of us and our large dog. Very warm, very well equipped and just very pleasant! Perfectly situated with just enough room for 2 cars to park. Garden at the back is small but fully enclosed and just large enough for our dog to lay in the sun and stretch her legs before we go out for the day. The cottage feels spacious and welcoming, Wouldnt hesitate to book again! A small note for the owner the upstairs doors were very creaky and could do with checking, and the kettle needs descaling or replacing, which I appreciate you wouldn't notice unless you were actually staying there.

Great location for walks in the local area. We stayed 3 nights visited the 1 of the pubs for food & drinks, the Coop & walked to the North & South cliffs within the village. The cottage is surprisingly deceiving, plenty of room for the 6 of us. Would recommend.
