Carr Cottage, Boynton

Loved the cottage and the location. It is an old property with lots of character and history in a quiet setting in beautiful countryside. Just what we wanted. We were able to get to the nearby beaches with just a short drive and Bridlington has all the usual supermarkets etc. We would definitely visit again.

Carr Cottage is a very quaint , comfortable, spacious and clean and has everything you need for your stay. Its set around some beautiful scenery too. We had a lovely stay here and would recommend it to others .

Property in beautiful setting. House clean and beds comfy. However, Need heated towel rail permanently switched on in bathrooms and extra heaters in bedrooms as the fixed heaters gave off very little heat. Extra heaters provided on request. Hester in dining room failed on 2nd night but was quickly replaced when reported. Large kitchen fully equipped for home cooking but cold. Electrician attended twice to fix bathroom heater. Plumber attended once to fix plug in bath, not holding water. Lamp in lounge and tv tripped twice. Had to go to fuse box to trip switch. Use of beautiful garden, ideal for dog. Friendly host. Very apologetic for unforeseen faults. We visited last year and had no hot water for 24 hours or so. Plumber attended and resolved. Whilst we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in a beautiful setting, really would have preferred not to have encounter the plumbing and heating problems.

Lovely quirky cosy cottage in relaxing grounds. We enjoyed cliff top walks and visiting the local towns. Penny, Jane and Mrs Marriott were all very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Everything about the cottage was true. Stay ruined by next door long term tenants whose children kept my wife and I awake until early hours of morning by shouting and playing on games consul. The owner spoke to them this did nothing to stop the noise. A beautiful historic setting that during the day was tranquil but if you cannot sleep then your stay is ruined. The tenants will prevent another booking which is a shame as we loved the location and can only be described as a part of old England,steeped in heritage and history that was ruined by thoughtless long term tenants.

We enjoyed our stay. The garden was big and enclosed. Safe for the dog and grandkids. The house was well equipped. Jane was very kind and helpful. The coast and shops were within easy access. Issues inadequate size freezer, fridge positioned under a sharp cornered cupboard, no written information about recycling of waste, and a fire escape, and access to various garden areas was unclear in the beginning.

We had a wonderful stay at Carr Cottage, Boynton Hall. It was very spacious, and comfortable. Very well equipped and set in wonderful surroundings. Jane and Peter were very helpful, as were everyone in the adjoining cottages. It is so convenient for Bridlington, Filey, Scarborough, and exploring the NYorkshire moors, as well as the Yorkshire Wolds. Highly recommended.

Beautiful spacious accommodation, everything needed was there. Fantastic quiet location with great views. We will happily come again.

Really nice cottage very spacious and comfortable was met on arrival by jane who showed us around and took care of us if we needed anything , Everyone we met there was really nice. Be aware that there are quite a few stairs inside the property if you have mobility issues, We had a wonderful week here and will be booking again for next year. Thanks again to Jane for taking care of us during our stay at Carr cottage .I gave it 3 smiles on facilities as there is no freezer

Warm welcome . Quirky comfortable cottage. Beautiful view from lounge window on to large lawn and front of hall. Kids and dog loved playing with ball in the very large garden available to us. Decor etc in keeping very with the periid of property. Like walking back in time. Very spacious. Woodland walk nearby. Muddy dog enjoyed a swim in the stream, Washing mud off before entering cottage. Have booked again from next year. Lady from the Hall popped in to see if we were OK. Very kind.

History is everywhere at this site. Great local walks and a dog friendly walled garden were very much appreciated. Very friendly welcome by the host who were also close by in case of any queries etc. Kitchen facilities were good and there was a choice of bedrooms should we have needed them. All in all would recommend this cottage to anyone who enjoys history, the nearby coast and a fine base from where to walk Manor Court Hotel at nearby Carnaby is very good for food and real ale!

Definitely not for persons with mobility issues but a charming old property in many respects not least of which is the delightful walled garden in which to sit & relax with your Dog . The residents are friendly & greet you when outside . The benefits of the quiet surroundings far outweigh any small drawbacks.

We loved our stay at Carr Cottage, everything was clean, all the facilities were in good working order and everything you would need was provided, also great for children as there was a cot & high chair available. The beds were comfortable and the garden was beautiful, my son loved playing in it, we would definitely rebook in the future and 100 recommend!

The house and grounds were beautiful and the inside of the cottage was fine but it wasn't suitable for elderly people with mobility problems like us. I would like to think that this is pointed out in future advertisements, so people are aware.

Great to stay in the wing of a centuriesold country house with use of the grounds, in a quiet rural village yet only 3 miles from Bridlington. This is not the place for you if you like uptodate modern style but we loved the oldfashioned quirkiness of this large cottage. We enjoyed exploring the beautiful, untouristy Yorshire wolds and the beaches nearby are fab. A place to return to.

We had a brilliant week, accommodation had everything we needed. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Place is quirky and unusual which made it all the more fun to stay at. Lots of places to go nearby made it a great base for our holiday. Wonderful.

We enjoyed our stay at Carr Cottage, we found that everyone was really friendly, chatty and quick to greet us and we felt very welcome staying there. The cottage itself was very spacious the photos online do not to it justice and the large garden space was very much loved by our dog. The cottage was well equipped for our stay and was very clean and tidy.

Carr Cottage occupies a beautiful, tranquil location and is excellent value for money. We enjoyed a two week holiday with four kids and were not short of activities in the area. The cottage has everything you need and is comfortable and clean. If you require an ultra modern property then this will not be for you. If you enjoy a unique, idiosyncratic and historical property then I highly recommend Carr Cottage.

Quaint acommodation in a lovely area conveniently locaterd for seaside towns. Very friendly and helpful owner. Only problemwas wifi a bit hit and miss but would definitely return

We have stayed here once before and returned because we liked it so much. It is a really spacious property with real character in beautiful surroundings. It is also very convenient for visiting places. Will definitely book again.

Carr cottage is in need of complete refurbishment. Carpets, beds and general decor not up to standard for a holiday cottage.

Some negatives I was disappointed by the fact that I could not cancel once booked. I don't understand why there is no cooling off period. When I reread the small print and discovered no wifi I tried to cancel within 10 minutes. If I had it was clear I would have lost my money altogether. The interior decor etc is a bit below the standards you would normally expect. However, the positives of the cottage hugely outweighed any negatives. We adored our holiday. The setting is idyllic. The people on site were warm and very friendly. The key to our happy holiday was to adapt ourselves to fit in with the property not the other way round. We really had a fabulous time.

Our 2nd visit to Carr Cottage and we will definitely be coming back! ! Perfect location for exploring local coastline which is very dog friendly. Fantastic to visit North Landing and Bempton to see birds. Cottage is a perfect sanctuary for peace and quiet as set in lovely location with pretty views and friendly neighbours.

Although accommodation was a little dated it met our needs. The people who met us were friendly and were helpful. Would definitely use again as it is a great base for exploring the east coast. At night it was a cozy place to end the day.

It is very dark at night recommend taking small torches for bathroom use. The property is beautiful and there are many opportunities for scenic walks. It is peaceful and has beautiful gardens

We have just had a fantastic week at Carr Cottage! The weather was superb with sunshine every day! Great location for visiting the nearby seaside towns and fabulous miles of dog friendly beaches! The cottage is quirky and interesting in a beautiful peaceful setting with very friendly staff, neighbours and villagers who all make you feel very welome. We hope to return again soon!

Weve stayed at Carr Cottage many times and its always just been a quaint little haven of peace and quiet. Its close enough to several seaside towns which all have a different appeal but still far enough away to make you believe youre in the middle of nowhere!

Interesting property, good weather.

This is our second visit to this lovely cottage, having thoroughly enjoyed the situation and peaceful setting, well away from the road. It is set within extensive grounds, including a beautiful garden available for visitors and areas for families to sit in the sunshine while the children play. As per the description, this Grade II cottage IS rare and quirky, absolutely NOT modern, but totally enchanting. If you are looking for a state of the art upgraded place to stay with all mod cons... this isnt it. This is not an ultramodern property, and that really IS part of its charm. It doesn't have a dishwasher, as noted in the cottage description but it's easy living and very relaxing. It is absolutely a family letting, for those with children, and although it would be possible to provide for more than two adults, the single beds really are for children. The description is clear regarding the lack of WiFi in that there isn't any, or at least barely any signal so be prepared for a holiday without the trappings of technology wonderful!. It also clearly describes the bathrooms as having handshowers no overhead showers over the bath and that is also true. Sloping ceilings make it difficult for tall adults to shower, so bathing would be preferable. The location makes this an ideal place for visiting other local attractions as well as being approximately 15 minutes from Bridlington by car. Nearby Rudston and its unique monolith is the next village, and Sledmere isn't far. Apparently, somehow a full complement of six 6'5 National basketball team booked to stay this year, each one arriving in their own car it clearly states that there is room for two cars and of course the facilities were totally inappropriate for a letting of this kind. The property is of course clean in the countryside there is good reason for the the odd spider and they are also resident.

Quite narrow and steep stairs and no proper shower with no bath mat in one bathroom. No bulb in top corridor leading to second bathroom and end bedroom. Kitchen shabby.

Great, quirky cottage set in fantastic surroundings. Although the cottage was clean, and comfy, it does need a bit of attention inside. It is an old place, so old furniture does go, but it is in need of a freshen up. one of the twin rooms needs the beds renewing. you sat on one side and it just rocked the bed. I'm surprised my daughter didn't fall out. but other than that it is conveniently located for brid, flamborough, Bempton and all surrounding areas.

Fantastic location in the grounds of a stately home with gardens available to picnic in. Helpful staff live nearby and dealt quickly with our only problem, which was getting the DVD player to work! Bridlington south beach is 15 minutes away Google a back route which avoids the town traffic . Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby and Scarborough are all an easy distance. Highly recommended for a family holiday.
